Gua Sha finds it origins as far back as the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a massage tool used to help support health and detox.

On a therapeutic level Gua Sha is incredible for releasing muscle tension, encouraging blood circulation, and moving stagnancy in the body. It promotes lymphatic drainage, a stronger immune system, and the reduction of inflammation.

It can also help with skin elasticity, wrinkles and fine lines, puffiness, cellulite as well as sculpting and toning.

The Gua Sha is a beautiful tool for self-massage, body care and supporting you in a deeper connection with your body.

Most Gua Sha is made from stone or crystal, this handmade wooden Gua Sha is a beautiful light weight alternative that won’t crack, break, or smash and is perfect for travelling or to keep in your handbag/on the go.

Ritual Recommendation: Keep beside your bed & use it every night as part of your night-time, wind down ritual. Take some deep breaths and use the Gua Sha to find the tight and tender spots on the body. Apply a nourishing oil and use a scraping motion to lovingly release anything that is no longer serving you.

Always apply oil when using directly on the skin to avoid dragging over and damaging the skin. Keep the Gua Sha angled at about 45degrees. See image above.
